The Rock n' Roll legend Lemmy had been battling several health issues over the years.

The shocking and upsetting news was first reported by TV host Eddie Trunk who was a long time friend of the Motorhead frontman.

In a band statement, they said he was diagnosed of Cancer just two days ago... "There is no easy way to say this," Motörhead said. "Our mighty, noble friend Lemmy passed away today after a short battle with an extremely aggressive cancer.

"He had learnt of the disease on December 26th, and was at home, sitting in front of his favorite video game from The Rainbow which had recently made it's way down the street, with his family," the band said.

"We cannot begin to express our shock and sadness, there aren't words."

The band recently canceled a series of shows due to what the band said was a lung infection and was looking forward to getting back on the road.

R.I.P Lemmy, you are a god and an inspiration to the metal community.
