Every year Vans Warped Tour attracts people from all ages and walks of life to the tour of the summer. With past musical acts ranging from My Chemical Romance and Blink 182, to Katy Perry and Waka Flocka Flame, Vans Warped Tour has something for everyone. The 2017 lineup carried on the tradition of having something for everyone having rappers like Futuristic and Sammy Adams performing alongside bands like punk legends Anti-Flag, and Andy Black.

July 15th, Vans Warped Tour came to the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel New Jersey to give music lovers both young and old the time of their lives. Starting the morning off was Illinois based metal band, Sworn In, performing the first set of the day comes with the expectation of a smaller crowd as people are getting adjusted to their surroundings but not for Sworn In. Attracting one of their largest crowds of the summer Sworn In performed in front of hundreds of eager fans screaming the lyrics of their songs back to them. Although they performed some of their older material, their new album “All Smiles” seemed to get fans buzzing with excitement watching the band perform new material. Playing with a compelling intensity, Sworn In is a band to watch out for in the upcoming year.

Some of the earlier sets also included performances from I Prevail and Dance Gavin Dance, both garnering hundreds of people flocking to their stages to watch the bands they love. Even though all of these talented bands performed with grace and a sense of expertise, none matched the level of devotion Black Veil Brides front man, Andy Black’s fans had. Minutes before Andy’s band even entered the stage you could hear the chanting of “Andy” from across the venue. For girls in the alternative scene, Andy Black is their version of a member of One Direction. Every time Andy even approached their side of the stage hundreds of girls would scream because their idol was in the same vicinity as them.

Although Warped Tour is filled with seasoned pro’s who are performing on their third of fourth Warped Tour, there are still equally talented up and coming bands that people should be on the look out for. Creeper, and The Gospel Youth, are two of these bands to keep an eye out for. Both have already gained a substantial fan base following their every move, some more literally than others. Ian Miles and Will Gould sat down with Rattle Mag to discuss their recent successes and future plans, Ian shared an anecdote of a fan finding his address and sending him SIM cards with a line of a message on each of the cards. This is only a small testament to the future successes that are going to follow the band. Make sure to check out the few remaining dates of Vans Warped Tour this summer and catch some of your favorite bands and watch the music come to life before your eyes.
