The modest master of music from Minnesota, Tommy Stinson, perhaps best known for his role with The Replacements and briefly, Guns N' Roses, is thankfully playing Frankenstein by resurrecting his previously short lived 1992 band 'Bash & Pop'.

Stinson made the announcement via his PledgeMusic page, that allows fans the chance to be immersed and involved with the record and some of Stinson's own charitable causes, whilst also snatching up some exclusive swag for their troubles. The new record apparently boasts help from the likes of Frank Ferrer, Joe Sirois, Jesse Malin and Justin Perkins among other respected and notable names.

Pledges range from $10 to $10,000, but the rewards up for grabs are arguably priceless to some. Among the more interesting hauls are a signed Les Paul Jr that was actually used on the record, a personal house show, Tommy Stinson's wedding access pass, a plaid suit famously worn by The Replacements and friends, handwritten lyric sheets and for $75, entry to Bash & Pop's first concert, to be held at the historic 7th street entry in Minneapolis.

With a desire to throwback to The Replacements early customs, Stinson opted to capture Bash & Pop's return showcase in bonefide raw fidelity, recording the album as a live band. Stinson states of this decision 'Recording live with a band is the only way I know this to be done. As the life of this project developed, the elements of what make a band a BAND started to appear. The spontaneity, the solidarity, the piss, the vinegar, the good times and the angst. These are all of the things that I think make for a great rock n roll record; like a car careening helplessly off the road, only to be spared catastrophe at the very last second.'

The page also hosts a few carefully selected reminders of Bash & Pop's prior work including title track 'Friday Night (is killing me)'.
