It was a typical Tuesday evening in Manchester this week. The rain hammered down on the streets, Real Madrid hammered some poor sods on the telly, and some L.A. spandex wearing, cougar hunters known as STEEL PANTHER hammered out some glorious numbers at the Arena.
As I say, it was a typical Tuesday evening in Manny as anyone who knows ANYTHING about music knows Manchester is the pinnacle of the United Kingdom when it comes to making organised noise.
The 80s inspired hair-metallers came out to a rawkus ovation at the largest indoor venue in the U.K. The Steel FANthers were more than ready to explore their coming of age. The glam rock gangbang
kicked off the show paying homage to Gods of Rock KISS before dropping into their own theme song Eyes of a Panther.
A Steel Panther gig is a straight up throwback to the sexy glam rock generation of the 1980's, though the innuendos are far less abstract when they travel up from Michael Starr's jackhammer hips, past his libido-driven love muscle and protrude from the man's second busiest muscle, the other being his tiny resilient penis of course.

I say resilient because the man himself has some bold claims through his cock hungry music. To spend his entire weekly pay at the Gloryhole, which is either quite an achievement, or he's being conned into blowing his whole load. Tales of Starr banging "17 girls in the grocery store" [17 Girls In a Row], and "fucking hookers in the can" [Asian Hooker], it's hard to leave a Panther gig with an innocent mind. Even the food vendors were serving foot long phallic sausages. There was no escaping the comical double entendre, and it was brilliant.
Steel Panther maintained a fantastic rapport between band members, with flashes of brilliance throughout the set. The camaraderie from Starr and Satchel's chemistry matched their musical ability to the extent it literally lifted women onto the shoulders of their boyfriends and exposed their boobs for all to see. Satchel is definitely a durable multi-talented fingerman at the top of his game. Taking over the whole stage to showcase his own guitar- playing medley [with too many licks to mention], Satchel allowed Lexxi, Michael and Stix to take a breather and while they were doing so, we had our breaths taken away by the axe-wielding string fondler.
Lexxi Foxx spent more time flicking his hair than slapping the Bass, which is probably why he gets the brunt of the insults from the other band members. Being the pretty boy airhead of the band, the
four string fits perfectly with his intellect, and on the odd occasion he is allowed to engage with the audience, he'll often say something darker than expected. #TheyOnlyDoThatInGermany.

Stix Zadinia even got in on the act, not only playing an astounding drum session from the back of the stage, but also getting up front and playing the 'Easy Xylophone' app when called upon for the
acoustic features.
Crowd Interaction? SP got you covered bro! Having hand picked a girl from the audience [named Chloe, #shoutout] Starr and co. took turns serenading her with improvised verses before entertaining her with a rendition of "Girl From Oklahoma". Chloe stayed on stage with the band through fan favourite "Community Property" before a barrage of more women from the crowd were allowed to invade the stage for the aforementioned "17 Girls In A Row". Understandably, energy levels were high, resulting in total frenetic elation, but that's what happens when you meet groupies in Manchester!

Steel Panther is a band designed on the successful traits of the previous era, entwined with slapstick comedy and tales of sexual deviance. The way the foursome have integrated this style into the modern era, with lewd innuendos, sexual perversion [It Won't Suck Itself] and a tongue in cheek (doesn't matter which one) mentality opens up the playbook to an entirely new youthful audience that hasn't experience life until Michael Starr and his band of mavericks are throwing 'Shockers' your way. With songs such as "Just Like Tiger Woods", Steel Panther isn't afraid to take a cheeky pop at anyone. In an ominous world where the future's looking bleak, this animalistic celebration of taboos is a perfect escape for a generation brought up on the dark arts of the Internet.

Steel Panther "wanna hit it, wanna tap it, wanna pull it and twist it and slap it"; and they have managed to consistently do all that to thousands of people, every night they perform. With track titles such as "Party Like Tomorrow Is the End of the World", "Turn Out the Lights", "Let Me Cum In" and "Party All Day (Fuck All Night)", it's obvious that the four horsemen of the apoca-lips love partying, sex, filth and all that lovely depravity in between. It's clear they love being on stage telling these sordid stories, and there's no doubt that these guys are heading to the festival headline slot in the not-so- distant future. My only question is how are they planning to expand their show to accommodate a festival stage, and how dark can they go? I'm booking tickets as soon as they're available because I can't wait to find out.
