The One Big Family - Helping The Homeless charity was set up in August of 2015 by Liz and Darren Shaw in Chatham, Kent. Their aim was to set up two soup kitchens in Medway and London areas and to provide essential items such as clothing, toiletries, blankets, roll mats, sleeping bags, food and water, and most importantly, someone to talk to.
They said so themselves, “We do not claim to be able to solve the Homeless crisis, but we can make life a little more bearable for those in need”.
Whilst everyone involved in One Big Family donate their time without payment, providing the homeless with essential items does not come cheap, especially when the numbers of homelessness are always increasing, more and more people are in times of need. One way of providing the money to buy these essential items is fundraisers like Music For Kits, which will host bands at The Lending Room at Leeds Library on Woodhouse Lane on Saturday 11 March 2017.

Headlining the fundraiser will be One Sided Horse... Founded by Mark Whiteside who is known for his part of drums in Evil Blizzard, One Sided Horse will appear live with four-fifths of Embrace: Richard McNamara on guitar; Mickey Dale on keyboards; Steve Firth on bass;and Mike Heaton on drums. The debut ONE SIDED HORSE album will be released this year.

Joining One Sided Horse at the Leeds fundraiser will be Glass Mountain, a Bradford four-piece whose debut EP, Glacial, earned the support of Clash Magazine and Tom Robinson at BBC Introducing. They also won best video of the year at the Leeds Music Video Awards. They are now preparing for their second release, the two track COWBOY SONG | MORE THAN THIS single.

Opening the night will be Scottish Indie rockers EMERALD SUNDAY, a band who support the cause of
ONE BIG FAMILY so much that they are traveling from Dundee to be there.
Tickets are only £8, and can be purchased HERE.
